During a time when many college students are looking ahead to graduation and the start of the next chapter in their lives, or maybe just making it through semester exams, one soon to be graduate’s future was cruelly cut short. In the Spring of 2008, shock and horror struck the UW-Madison campus when 21-year-old Brittany Zimmermann was brutally murdered in her own apartment during broad daylight. As a student at UW-Madison when this crime occurred, it has stuck with me.
